Prepping for this evening... I had to make a strong wood structure behind the backdrop to support the heavy bronze. Making do with what I have here. Well the silver didn’t tarnish
The Silver didn’t tarnish in a week so I dug the bronzes back up. I’ll try tarnishing later or leave them to tarnish in time.

Two, two, and two
Bronze gates cut to free the pieces for sandblasting, chasing, and assembly. This was going to be two piece but I changed my mind.

Freshly cast antlers and shovel heads with the ceramic shell mold material removed.
Process…
Many of my works take a lot of process that slows down some of the energy at times. Here I’m layering ceramic over the wax parts through a series of dips within liquid ceramic and silica sand. This builds a shell that can be fired which will become the container in which the molten bronze will be poured into.
The wax shovel heads
Made and cast in wax- soon to be cast in bronze along with the antlers.

I’ve been molding the antlers and casting them and the shovel heads in wax, preparing for the bronze casting process.
