I need more shovel heads
I’m thinking of slabbing this large oak rectangle that I’ve been storing for many years after it fell during a storm. I think I can get three 5” thick slabs. Hopefully I can carve some shovel heads without checking.

I shaped some shovel heads today out of a fallen oak that I’ve been storing for probably 8 years now. I cut out 6 and only got 1 usable shovel head. The rest had splits from checking. Plan B. #isolatedartist

The intimate Brooms
I finally cleaned and waxed the Intimate Brooms. They have spent 6 months buried in the ground and another 6 in a damp basement. The patina is where I would like it to be.

Other than tarnishing the silver leaf, it’s finished. This piece is 61” L x 30” W and comes off the wall about 7”.
